SLOGAN FOR CONSERVATION OF HILLS AND FORESTS Yes, I had seen a hoarding having this slogan/code at Nilgiris Range of hills saying that: "LEAVE NOTHING BUT FOOTPRINTS
TAKE NOTHING BUT MEMORIES" I was very much impressed by this couplet because it tells the tourists not to leave any wastes or any material which is foreign to the forest environment and not to take anything belongs to the forest because for the sustainability of environment. Sorry, I don't know who said this but hats off to the creator of this slogan/code !
Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints.
Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time.

No ... that is why they are called "protected species" in the first place. They are protected from removal from that country. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.

That signpost is a reminder that visitors of an area should leave no evidence they were even there. "Take only photographs" means a visitor should not pick up and remove anything like bugs, plants, rocks, etc. "Leave only footprints" means a visitor should pack out what they bring in and not leave any litter or otherwise deface the area. Some areas require that human waste be packed out. As youngsters, we were taught that we always left a place better than the way we found it - which meant we picked up everything everyone else left behind.
