Yes, there is an organization called this. I do not know enough about them to call them a cult but most people around Hinsdale are wary off them and refer to them as such.
They have recently sold their property and are moving elsewhere. A strip shopping mall and high density housing will be built on the groups former property which is a very desirable location.
I've seen their campus and have meet some of their members. I've not observed, nor heard directly, anything that is strange or cultish about them. Referring to them as a cult without good reason is religious and social discrimination as well as slander. The "cult" label seems to come from the fact they are not a major religion. There are many similar types of facilities in the area associated with major religions that do not get called cults.
If you are curious as to the groups values and principles it can probably be found via the web or through contact with the organization. That they are referred to as a cult may be more a factor of Hinsdale's values than any actions or principles of this organization.
