You wouldn't notice the difference if you are just doing casual computer use, for example: Internet Browsing, listening to music, or word processing.

However, if you are playing graphically intensive games, then you would notice a difference.

The higher the PC number (PC2100, PC2700, or PC3200) then the better it is. Just be sure to buy the memory that is compatible with your motherboard... that is if you are planning on buying memory.
