Yes. There are a few.
- Lots of patients get shocky when someone sticks a scope down their throat -- it's an uncomfortable situation.
- When scoped this way, lots of people hold their breath -- some don't notice they're doing it either. Your symptoms are coincident with that too.
- Of course, it may have had to do with the reason the doctor was checking yoru vocal chords. Did you have the flu? That could certainly explain fainting or nearly fainting.
I assume the doctor was there when this happened, so he got to observe the whole event, and still released you.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.
