ABSOLUTELY! just type free classifieds in the search websites and you will get like hundreds of classifieds websites like craigslist however please realize that only handful of websites are as big as craigslist.

Well, Craigs List (www.craigslist.com) has a free section in their categories. Another place (that is currently down, but intends on being up shortly) would be the Local Data Place (www.LocalDataPlace.com). The last I know of is www.freesharing.org.

In Canada and possibly in US there is a site called Kijiji. It is very similar to CL, but apparently not as popular, or widely read. I have advertised items for sale on Kijiji and got good results. On CL, usually at least half the respondents are time wasters or not very serious people who seem to make it a lifetime occupation to be jerks.
