Is there an easy way to fix a hole in the oil pan? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Sorry Charlie!! Ford has a fine reputation for low quality oil pans. You may be able to temporarily patch it with a kit from an autoparts store, but it would be foolish and short term. Replace the pan.
Answer
Get some JB Weld and a self tapping bolt slightly larger then the hole.
Drain the oilpan and clean the area with the hole. Apply some JB Weld and screw in the self tapping bolt until tight. Let sit.
After the JD Weld has set, apply a few layers of JB Weld on top of the whole area, do this a few times and let sit.
You sould be all set for a short term resolution.
P.S. Backyard mechanics have bigger wrenches!
Answer
put a small but strong bolt (as big as the hole) through the hole, from the inside and tighten really tight with a strong nut, then cover with silicon. worked for me, made just like new hope it works for you!!
