There is a policy that gives Commanders the right to do what is in the best interest of their unit and the mission. Sometimes that involves making difficult choices. I served in the Army for more than twenty five years. I always tried to do the best to support approved leaves (both individual and block leaves), but on at least three occasions, I had to tell a soldier his leave was cancelled. In all three situations, I told the solder myself -- I felt they had earned the right to understand the reason why I made the decision. Yes, it is disappointing to loose a leave you had looked forward to for a while. It also is disappointing to have to pull guard duty Christmas Day, but it is part of how the Army works.

What is Block Policy inheritance?

Normally a policy setting will be enabled if a higher level or previous group policy sets it. This is inheriting the setting from a previous policy. Using the block inheritance means that the setting will not be enabled from a previous policy.

How do supervisors ban members of WikiAnswers?

When a user is violating the WikiAnswers terms of use a supervisor may block them using the "Block Vandal" feature. The supervisor enters the username or IP address they would like to block, the duration of the block and the reason for the block before submitting. When possible, the supervisor should first post a message on the user's personal message board educating them about the policy they are violating. If the behavior continues after that, then a block should be pursued.
