The is some experimental "pre-aplha" software that has become "orphaned" and is no longer in the development process however a few programmers out there are keeping it up and running. The program is called JauntePE. It essentially packages all the files required for software to run in one executable and even will create a "virtual registry" for that program so it will not write to the PC registry. A great site with lots of great free portable applications is called www.portablefreeware.com. They maintain a forum on JauntePE. Note that this program is fairly unstable but effective. Also, portablefreeware.com will not accept any application packaged by JauntePE as portable applications. Also, all material is subject to copyright from owner. Creating a portable application package my infringe on their rights.
