Is there any way you can get vet services for your cats if they have a cold but you can't afford to take them in?

For this type of circumstance you need to call a Vet or your S.P.C.A. Immediately. They are tuned to these types of circumstances, and some practices and facilities will donate the drug therapy needed for your felines. They will kindly direct you and recommend the appropriate therapy for your felines. They have hearts and they understand.

This sounds like URI (Upper Respiratory Infection) This is probably why all your cats have this cold because it is contagious (airborn) A vet needs to be contacted A.S.A.P. and the cats need to be treated. You don't need a secondary infection during this time period which could lead to a chronic illness.

For now until you are able to get the help needed for your cats, you must keep them indoors and away from other animals. Keep your cats in a clean environment which includes clean food and water bowls and a clean home. Keep your home above 70 degrees and if you cats get wet either dry them off or make sure they stay warm while they dry off. A Humidifier for the room or a steaming bathroom would be great. But do not allow the cats to catch a chill.

These cats need treatment.

If you are on state benefits, you might qualify for free treatment under the PDSA (a charity for animal care), as mentioned above, your Vet will be able to get you in contact with them, or you can find their number in your local phone book.

I agree with above. Most likely a URI, or a "kitty cold". But they usually need to be seen / treated because cats can easily develop secondary infections. The URI is a virus, so it has to run its course (much like a human cold), but often cats will need to be treated with medications and / or eye creams.

Also be aware that cats are VERY GOOD at hiding when they don't feel well. So a cat that looks "well" might not be well at all.

Your cat's sense of smell is probably diminished, too, which means kitty might not want to eat. Try to feed your cat smelly foods, like sardines, warmed up with a little water, to encourage eating.

You might want to contact your local animal shelter or SPCA to see if they offer low cost vet care.
