Is there anything you can do about your 9 year old son talking in his sleep? |
Answer
My 6 year old daughter talks & walks in her sleep. I have found nothing to stop it. I myself am 28 & still talk in my sleep.
Answer
It's very normal for children (adults) to talk in their sleep. In some cases children (adults) can even sleep walk. When we go into a REM sleep (our eyes constantly flutter during this sleep pattern) we dream every 1/2 hour, but most of those dreams we don't remember. If we didn't dream we would be totally exhausted and in a constant state of anxiety. Dreams are not always bad for you, some are pleasant and, when under stress children or adults can have nightmares. It's the bodies way of coping with stress. As long as your child has had a good sleep (not lethargic during the day) and seems fine, then just let it be, but keep an eye on your child. If you find your child is lethargic, not learning well I suggest your see a child specialist.
