In ancient Greece there used to be an animal known as a fenine. It was known for its affectionate temperment and domesticability. It was a popular animal to have around the store houses since it was adept at hunting and killing vermin.
Unfortunately, faced with food shortages in the empire they eventually had to start eating these creatures, which in turn allowed the vermin to proliferate and eat up the stores. This produced even more conflicts and the eventual downfall of Greece.
All that survives today are limited accounts and just one drawing of the famed fenine.
