YES! It definitely is. Your body needs to increase your blood volume by up to 50% during pregnancy. A 30% increase happens in the first trimester (big jump!), making that the time of the most dramatic change in blood volume. I drank and drank and was STILL thirsty for a good portion of my first trimester. You may also feel quite tired, as the liquid portion of your blood (the plasma) increases more quickly than your body can make new blood cells, s.a. hemoglobin. As a result, you may experience a sort of anemic response, which is also totally normal and okay in early pregnancy. Later on your blood cells will catch up, and - if not - your doctor may prescribe an iron supplement.

It could be one of the symptoms, yes, but being "real thirsty" is also a sign of dehydration or Diabetes. Please contact your doctor to be sure. ~ T No, it could be diabeties. Missing a period is a sign of pregnancy.

Well, hoow far along are you? Have you been tested for that Glucose(sp) Diabities yet? I was tested and I was always thirsty. Well, my test came back fine, but I found out not even an hour to I had to start pushing, I DID have it. So, the doctors have told me that it could be that Glucose Diabities. If you are wondering, or unsure, ask your doctor. You should always ask your doctor if you are unsure about anything. Believe me, it helps!

Well, I would like to know the answer to this too. I am only 7 weeks and am drinking an extraordinary amount of water. Curiously I am not peeing all the time though so have concluded that perhaps I am incubating a fish!

Urinating frequently is one of the many symptoms associated with pregnancy.

However, it is also the symptom of many other things, including bladder infection, weak bladder and so on. It can even be because you drink a lot of water-based drinks (which is good for you).

Urinating is not the only sign of pregnancy. There are dozens of other signs associated with pregnancy which happen alongside the urinating.

If you do think you're pregnant, simply buy a home-pregnancy test. You should also stop and smoking and drinking until you are sure you are in the all-clear.

If you are not pregnant but feel you have something "wrong" because of the urination, see a doctor.

Yes! Some women's appetites dramatically increase with pregnancy. No, it's a sign you need to eat. Not a sign of pregnancy.
