Best Answer

720p is one of the HD formats so it will display HD quality. Although most Bluray content is generated as a 1080 signal, some is produced as 720p. Either will work on any HD television although using a television with a native 1080 line display will deliver the best resolution available for any current HD content.

How do you get 1080p output on PS3 using a HDMI cable with a game that only supports 720p?

The PS3 will upscale to 1080P if the system is set to upscale. You will not get 1080p you will get 720P upscaled to 1080P. I find that DVDs movies are better on the upscaled format, but they are not of the quality of Blu Ray.

Can Blu-ray quality be seen on a 720p HD tv?

Does Blu-ray work with 720P?

Bluray handles all HD formats. As 720p is one of the HD formats, it will play it without a problem. Bluray will also handle 1080i and 1080p formats as well as standard definition. Depending on the set up of the player, the output will be in the format recorded on the disc or it may convert all formats to a single format such as 1080p. As an HD television will also handle any of the formats, it is worth experimenting with the set up to see if 720p discs are displayed better when the player outputs the native format or in a converted format.

Do Macs play blu rays?

The answer is No, but not exactly. There is no Blu-ray optical drive avaiable on Mac. If you want to enjoy Blu-ray on Mac, you need an external Blu-ray drive and a Blu-ray Player Software. I am using the Aurora Blu-ray Player and the Samsung SE-506AB. It just work fine for me.

Yes, probably. But the quality difference won't be noticeable... Yes you can have a 1080p source on a 720p panel. You won't be taking full advantage of the Blu-ray/ PS3/ Xbox360 but it will work just fine.
