Air is primarily made up of nitrogen (N2) - 78%, oxygen (O2) - 21%, water vapor (H2O) - less than 1%, carbon dioxide (CO2) - less than 1%, methane (CH4) - less than 1%, hydrogen (H2) - less than 1%, argon (Ar) - less than 1%, and helium (He) - less than 1%. A solvent is defined as the most abundant component of a solution. Therefore, nitrogen (N2) is the solvent and all other components (H2O, CO2, CH4, H2, Ar, and He) are the solutes.

Solvent = substance that dissolves the solute and is present in the highest amount. Solute = substance that is dissolved in the solvent and is present in the lowest amount. Together = a solution. We typically only think of liquid solutions, but gaseous mixtures can also be thought of as solutions. In the case of water vapor (H2O in gas phase) in the air, the air is the solvent and the water vapor is the solute. Liquid H2O has reached a heat high enough that thermal motion has made the H2O molecules soluble in the air.
Since nitrogen is 78% of the atmosphere, nitrogen can be thought of as the solvent. The remainder of the gasses in the atmosphere, such as oxygen, argon, and carbon dioxide can be thought of as the solutes.
air contains oxygen as the solute
and nitrogen as the solvent
water vapour in high quantities can cause certain animals to be killed last year alone 456 birds were killed by water vapour
This question makes no sense...
carbondioxide, oxygen
solute is water
Water is a solvent not a solute.
Solute- whatever chemicals are in the air freshener Solvent- the air
Neither of both. Gasses never are solvents. Air is a mixture -not a solution- of more gasses, none of them are solvent nor solute. When oxygen dissolves in water then this gas is the solute in water (the solvent).
The solvent is air; the solute are the particles of smoke.
the solute is napthalene and the solvent is air.
The solute and solvent are not absolute. But solvent is a large concentration and the solute is the gaps in between. When solvent is nitrogen and solutes are carbon dioxide it leaves traces of other gasses.
Solute is perfume and solvent is air
Solute- whatever chemicals are in the air freshener Solvent- the air
Solute: mothballs Solvent: air Keyword: Mothballs in air
The solvent may be the air and the solute is water.

the solvent is oxegenthe solute is argon gas
The solvent may considered air and the solute are the solid or liquid particles from smoke.
For gases the terms solute and solvent are not recommended.
