* Witchcraft is as real as any other religion. Whether you believe in it or not, or like it or not, it is real.
* If you mean is it real as in does it exist, then yeah it's real. If you mean can you fly on a broom or turn your cousin into a toad, then no. Harry Potter witchcraft is fantasy. However everyday magic, fortune telling, herbal medicines, potions, spells, etc. are real.
* I have a friend, a 75 year old woman who was a missionary to Africa for 40 years. She has some pretty scary (but true) stories to tell about her experiences with Shaman and sorcerers, human sacrifice, curses, etc. She will tell you that magic is real and never good - it is all about evil spirits (demons) working through you. If you want to believe that the power you posses is good, then the demons will help you believe it so that they can maintain their power over you. Wicca and other practices are all about inviting a demon(s) to work through you - selling your soul to the devil. Messing with the occult will burn you every time!
* It depends what kind of witchcraft you mean. There are no Sabrinas or Macbeth witches. Wiccans, however, do not sell their souls to the devil. While some do refer to themselves as witches, and the term originated well before Christianity, the whole "pagans are evil and summon demons" thing was a fear tactic used by early Christian priests to maintain control. Anyone who practices Satanic rituals and the like who call themselves Wiccans are NOT truly Wiccan, just as a murderer or child abuser is not truly a Christian. There are those who summon demons and try to cast spells for evil power, but Wiccans do not do things like that - it would be against the whole "Harm none" rule.
* Just to point out Satan is not the devil and does not exist in the Wiccan rule . He is seen as an angel that is used to maintain balance between light and dark . The devil was made up by the church and pinned to witchcraft to give a name to our god Pan. There is no definite line between good and evil it is the intent behind it.
* Yes, Witchcraft still exist in many forms. When the question is whether it exists or not, there is no point in arguing if it is evil or not. Besides Wicca is a religion and not all witches are Wicca.
