Ive had snakes my whole life but im very unsure what to feed my new ball python and the size of mice or rats please e-mail me at Cait07photmail.com if you have any answers?

[Edit]

Prey size will depend greatly on the size of your new ball python. If it is young and small, look at the prey size prior to purchase and make judgements based on the snakes size and age. If you are using f/t offer one at a time for the first feeding and watch to see his ability to handle the size of his food. If he has no idfficulty then try to proceed with a second of the same size or smaller in comparison. The next week you may choose to go up a size in prey if he did not seem satisfied the previous week.

If large lumps are left as the snake digests, his prey was most likely too large for him to handle. Make sure he's hydrated and next time alter the size.
