John Winston Lennon was born on October 8th, 1940 to Julia and Alfred Lennon. His parents seperated when he was 3 years old, and that's when he was brought up by his aunt Mimi. He saw his mother almost every day, but it was Mimi who thought of him as her son. He went to school when he was 4 years old. As a boy he loved reading writing And especially drawing. His uncle bought him a harmonica when he saw John loved music. The first song John ever learned to play on any instrument, was "ain't that a shame" on the banjo, which his mother played. He got his first guitar in 1957 when he was 17. She was killed in a car accident a year later, which devastated John. Aunt mimi never thought the guitar was a good idea or as she puts it "its very well, but you'll never make a living out of it". John always was something of a dreamer, thought the guitar was wonderful, and in 1957, formed the Quarrymen. The bandmates were all from Quarry Bank High School, which John attended since 1952. He was never an achiever, fooling his way through school, always the class clown. His grades were terrible. His only talent seemed to be art. Somehow he got into an art school. He met James Paul McCartney when he was 16. George and ringo soon came along, and went from the Quarrymen, to the Silver Beetles to the Silver Beatles, and finally to The Beatles. After that, love me do came out and I'm pretty sure you know the rest of the story.
