If it's slipping, it's most likley a slipping clutch problem. If it's an automatic, you're talking about a complete transmission rebuild. If it's a manual shift you're talking about a new clutch plate, pressure plate and throwout bearing and you'll need to have the flywheel resurfaced.
The vibration could be several problems, but you had better take care of the slipping problem first, because once a transmission starts slipping, it doesn't last long. Clutch surfaces in an automatic aren't very thick and they don't last long once they start slipping.
