My dash lights dont work I dont know why but to add to the problem they come on after the car is turned off and this happens sometime after I park the car and go into work I have a 2002 cavilier?

Answer:

Probably the headlight switch is bad. When you turn the switch on, it sends current to the dash dimmer switch. Sometimes the contacts get loose in the headlight switch and it needs to be replaced.
