it most likely is frozen. try to restart and if that dosent work, go on www.apple.com go to where it says manuals,look up the kind of ipod and genration, then look up toruble shooting, and see what it tells you to do.
make sure your usb cable is plugged in to the computer and click on your ipod icon and see if the battery life is full if that doesnt work contact the apple store.
