Officially, the Republic of Ireland was neutral during WW2, but Northern Ireland fought alongside Britain. However, many Irishmen from the Republic served in the British Army, Navy and RAF, and there were many Irishmen on both sides of the border who supported what Hitler was doing and were pro-Germany. The Germans bombed Belfast several times, and Dublin once.
