This is one of my favorite quotes by Martin Luther King Jr. However, I think it is difficult for some people to understand what it means. But if you read it carefully, you can see how it relates to the Civil Rights Movement. Rev. King was referring to long-held beliefs and prejudices that had no basis in reality. There is nothing more dangerous than someone who believes something simply because someone else told them it was true (you can breathe underwater!) -- or someone who fervently believes something without any proof, especially when they use this belief as an excuse to harm others. For centuries, African Americans were treated as second class citizens simply because of a long-held misbelief that they did not deserve the rights of Caucasian Americans. And many Americans held this belief so strongly that it led them to do horrific acts against African Americans. Hence, nothing is more dangerous than someone who fervently believes something without any basis in fact.
through refusal, laziness, stupidity or drinking and getting high take your pick :)
ignorance is when you say nothing at all and you don't know what is going around and intelligence is when you know it right then and there. just by analyzing and their curiousity.

Nothing. He invented nothing to make it less dangerous.
when Ben Franklin said "nothing is more expansive than education except for ignorance" he meant you can endlessly learn or you can stay stupid and learn nothing therefore endlessly lacking the knowledge of anything
There is an inherent problem with this quote as it fails to recognize that ignorance itself is a form of error. Believing in nothing does not make one closer to the truth, as understanding and knowledge are necessary to attain a better understanding of the world. It is important to seek truth, rather than settle for ignorance or incorrect beliefs.
absolutely nothing. superstitions stem from ignorance and fear.
