You left something out, but I'm assuming you were trying to say that you lost sight of him or he wandered off. Hopefully by the time you wrote this question, he had been found and is safe. That said, panic is a natural reaction to the natural fear when someone in your care is in danger, but it shouldn't be allowed to go out of control. Staying calm, despite your heart pounding and adrenaline flowing, is difficult but is necessary to thinking straight. And you would be wise to enlist help from other adults in the library or even a police officer. Finally, talk to your parents. Tell them how badly it scared you when your little brother was lost and ask for their advice should it happen again.
