On a 91 Stanza if cooling fans won't work when the engine gets hot what is the problem?

The problem is either a faulty sensor or fan motor. Try wiring the fan motor direct to see if it runs; if it does, then the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If it doesn't, then the fan mototr will need to be replaced.
