Depends on what kind of phone you have and what are you trying to do. If ya have an android try downloading Virtual data Cord app or swiftp app. That should allow you to connect. In order to view and manage files with swiftp app you will have to add a network place. It is way easier to use Virtual data Cable and it's easier to manage.
