The outermost layer of your skin (epidermis) is part of flat epithelial tissues called stratified squamous epithelium. This part is flat and is covered with cuticles to make your skin waterproof. These cells are dead so they don't require any blood to be given to them. The layer beneath them (dermis) has many capillaries and blood vessels.
