A Volkswagen Passat radio code can be found at any authorized VW dealership or service manual. If the code is incorrect the radio will not turn on.
You need to enter the code into the radio.
Unfortunately the code can not be retrieved from a working radio. If you can not find the code you have to get the serial number of the radio and call the dealer for the code.
To insert the radio code for a 2003 VW Passat the correct code must be on hand. Turn the radio on and configure the code using the preset buttons 1-4. When the correct code is typed press and hold the right side of the seek button. If the code was correctly inserted the letters LSM will appear.
The 2003 Volkswagen Passat is equipped with an anti theft radio. If the radio is removed or the battery disconnected you must input the proper code from the drivers manual, or return to dealer.
the car whose imported from Canada wen i have a electric problem i never can torn on the radio. where i can go to have the code ?
you will need to leave the radio on for 1 hour so the radio can reset itself then you can re-enter the code.
check your owmers manual for your radio there is a code you need to enter. You can find this at the back of the book. This usually happens when the battery is dead or replaced.
HI i drive VW PASSAT 2001 AND MY RADIO IS LOCK...IS THERE A UNIVERSAL CODE MABY ?PLEASE HELP ME...I CANT LIVE WITHOUT MUSIC THANKS If you have the owners manual it should be in there. We bought ours from someone who didn't have the code BUT they had some work orders from a dealer and under the comment section the code was listed. It will say RC then it will have 4 numbers. Hopefully you have some old work orders that you can look at. Good Luck!!
remove the radio, and get the serial number. then go to the nearest dealership and they will give you the code to unlock the radio. i would also recomend writing it down and keeping it in the car, as i am sure you will experience this problem again
It seems only a VW dealer can give you the code--they look it up from a database, based on both the car's DIN # and a part number on the radio itself. You can take the car to a car audio shop and they will remove the radio for you and then provide the necessary part numbers. Call the dealership and along with the VIN number they will provide you with the code. Once you have the code there are several steps you have to take to input the code.
A radio code is a code to activate your radio.
This problem is now sorted. I have thrown the old unit in the bin and purchased a new unit from the shop
