Don't try to win them a prize unless you are prepared to be embarrassed when you can't. * Dinner, but this is always the first date. Be creative. If you are a young man, and going to bring her flowers, give them at her home so she can put them in water. There is nothing worse then wilted flowers by the end of a date. Don't buy roses because all men do. If there is plastic wrap on it, make sure the price tag is off. Even better, take the plastic off and see if someone at the flower shop can wrap it in tissue paper. It looks better and grocery store flowers aren't romantic.

Do you like the outdoors or do you like art galleries? Doing something that you both like can be a good way to get to know each other. There is an activity to keep the conversation going. Start with something that will allow you plenty of time to talk, while doing something that you both enjoy.
