I have a similar situation a very old policy from 1934 paid up whole life insurance from the same company. I learned that Monumental Life Insurance bought SOME of state capital's life insurance policies....i'm currently searching now for another company that bought SOME of state's policies also...monumental had no record of my policy number.
here is the claim form i used online with monumental: https://www.monlife.com/ml/LifeClaimFrm.asp
Usually - as much as it was agreed upon at the time when the insurance was bought. When we buy an insurance policy, a maturity value is usually mentioned in the policy document. So, in all probabilities your insurance policy is worth as much as mentioned in the document. Also, since it has been 17 years since the policy was taken, it is possible that the policy has expired or lapsed. In that case, the policy is worthless today.
I am a caregiver for an elderly, blind man that has a policy for life insurance thru this company, and would like to know if the policy still exists and if the new company took over on the existing policies that banker's union life insurance co., consumer's had?
Contact the company (or who it's been bought by) - the policy is still good - ask them what you need to do - and you will probably need a death certificate.
You could submit a claim but that usually means dying first. Short of dying, you could surrender the policy for its surrender value. The surrender value depends on many things but it starts a zero when the policy is bought and grows to the face amount as the policy ages. The hardcopy of the policy should show a face amount but will likely also include a schedule for the surrender value. If the hardcopy of the policy can't be located, a call to the company is in order.
Yes, I have one that my parents bought me around 1952. I've tried to find out if the policy is good but am told it is not. SO!!! My parents paid the premiums and now it is worthless. It was not much but I feel they were cheated. Not happy!

By looking at any GAP Insurance Policy you purchased and looking at the dates to see if it is in effect. If you bought GAP Insurance, you would have been given a copy of the bogus GAP insurance Policy.
We have an old life insurance policy from Interstate life and accident and it was bought by AIG Insurance how do i contact them
Whichever company wrote the policy should have a copy of it.
Some do, some do not, You just need to read your policy language or ask your insurance agent what kind of policy you bought.
== == If she is still alive, ask her. If not, write a letter of inquiry to the customer service department of suspect insurance companies. ie: the insurance companies they bought their own insurance from, the ones they bought your insurance from etc..
It may, it really just depends on what kind of insurance policy you bought and whether your policy is a Farm and Ranch type policy or if you have the barn scheduled as a covered structure or not.You should contact your insurer or your insurance agent for clarification of your policy coverage.
