Mewar university started this year with ugc approval and permission taking for aieee students.But they have not taken aicte approval.What is the future of this university and is it ok?
There is no AICTE approval is required for DEC approval courses . It is given by AICTE official in a reply to a RTI question . A.Ramasubramanaian.

Universities do not require AICTE approval as per Hon'ble Supreme Court judgment in the case of Bharatidasan University v/s AICTE where in the court has clearly ruled that "it is not mandatory for a University, created under an Act to seek and secure prior approval of the AICTE to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the University itself to conduct technical courses of its choice & selection.
As far approval from AICTE is concerned ,AICTE approval is given to those institutes which are affiliated to a university. Galgotia is itself a university which is established as per Section 2(f) of the UGC Act and thus no approval from AICTE is required for the university.

A University is said to be a deemed University if it has UGC (University Grants Commission) Approval. Deemed Universities will not have AICTE approval, but it has NBE Accredation not mandatory.
