It depends on the individual. However, you might want to stay with something in the liberal arts area where you generally do not have the higher level maths, sciences and technologies. Still, you should look at what the degree is going to do for you in terms of overall career goals and objectives. Easy is not synonymous with best.

While this is true, there are ways of making it easier to earn your degree. Firstly it is important to choose a field you are interested in. Spending four years studying a subject you have no interest in will lead to procrastination and you will find it difficult to get the motivation you required to get the work done. If you are truly interested in the subject this will have the opposite effect which will reflect in your grades the the ease at which you find the course.

Studying online can also make earning a degree much easier if you are trying to fit your studies around an already busy schedule. One of the main advantages to an online bachelor degree program is that you can take your classes and do your work from anywhere and at any time. There are no restrictions or limitations. You don't have to live in a particular city or region, and you don't have to be available at a specific time of the day. You make the program fit into your life instead of trying to hack away at your responsibilities and existing schedule to fit into the strict requirements of the program.

Distance education tends to be easier than anything else that's out there right now and it will enable you to continue working and handling your responsibilities even as you go back to finish your Bachelors Degree. Whether you are starting it fresh or you have some credits from previous years, online education is the easiest and most successful and feasible solution to the problem.

Find a college with a low residency requirement(number of credits completed there) that will accept CLEP credit like regular transfer credit. Then, buy the study guide and old textbooks on the topic. Study intensively and take the CLEP subject exams, it may be possible to meet ~1/3 of required coursework that way. Finding a college and degree program with substantial summer offerings may also allow you to meet a large portion of credit requirements(you could probably earn as much as 25% of required credits over one summer, depending on the institution and your motivation.)

Following that strategy, it may be possible to earn a degree in as little as one and a half years.

There are community colleges that offer an associates degree in accounting which is a two year program if taken as prescribe. This usually falls into the Associates in Applied Science (AAS) category. However an AAS in accounting does not transfer well to a four year college or university should you wish to continue to a higher level degree.

The Bachelors degree in accounting is offered at the four year colleges and University which is the time it will take to complete the degree - once again - if taken as prescribed. You can cut down on the time by taking a maximum full-time credit load plus summer courses.

There are also some institutions that offer accelerated degrees, many of them online. You can go to the website called collegeboard. and research these schools using their MatchMaker search engine.

Unless there is an urgent need particular to circumstances beyond the control of the individual, the recommendation is not to rush through a program of study. Take time to assimilate the information appropriately, develop critical thinking skills, and give the information time to be well ingrained.

First, you need to determine your career goals and objectives. Your career goal should be based on a passion for what you want to do as a career. Once you have determined this you must then inquire about the educational requirements are particular to that field. If it requires a degree, you can then research colleges and universities that offer that degree and program of study. Then it's up to you to meet the schools entrance requirements.

The first thing you need to be concerned with is the following.

The best course to study is the one that leads to your overall career goals and objectives. Thus, I would imagine you do not have anything specific at this time. So many individuals enroll in college programs without a specific goal in mind. As such, many become miserable in their work which is not good for them, or their employer. If you want to be successful in your work and personal life, carefully consider the following.

To be successful in your work, you must acquire a vision. A vision is a clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. In other words, it's a dream. However, if the dream does not have direction, it will always remain a dream and will never become a reality for you. That vision should create a passion within you, a love for what you do and the benefit it will bring to others as well as yourself. Make sure the vision is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and tangible. Let us look at this closer. When you believe you have chosen an appropriate career goal, look at it in SMART fashion as follows.

  • Specific - Make sure your career goal is very specific. For example, "I would like to be a teacher," is not specific. "I would like to be a high school Biology teacher in New Jersey (USA) in an urban school by 2012" is.
  • Measurable - Make sure you can measure your progress. How will I know I am progressing in the right direction? This is where the development of short-term objectives comes in (discussed below). You will know you are on the right path as you accomplish each short -term objective.
  • Achievable - Is the goal achievable considering my current life situation and circumstances?
  • Realistic - Is what I want to do really realistic. For example, "I would like to be a middle weight boxing champion, and I am 63 years old." That is not realistic.
  • Tangible - What will I - specifically - have at the end? What will I be (exactly)? It must be very specific.

Once you acquire that vision your path will become clear. Still, you will need a mentor, counselor, or coach who will be able to help you develop a road map embedded with short-term objectives leading to your overall career goals and objectives. The achievement of short-term objectives will indicate you are moving in the correct direction, and will also give you energy and excitement to carry on towards your overall career goal. It will take some research, but you most likely have some ideas already. Follow them through, look at the nature of the field, the everyday routine, the required education, the salary, the occupational demand and the related fields. When a career sparks an interest, try to shadow an individual who is actually doing what you think you might like to do. You can pick up valuable information this way. Thus, the following.

  • Acquire the will to change circumstances.
  • Acquire the vision (dream).
  • Develop a road-map embedded with short-term objectives leading to your overall goal and objective.
  • Just do it and do not let go until it becomes a reality.
