it deals with the type of hard drive you have. vista by default chooses a certain hard drive and xp chooses sati hard drive by default. go in your bios and change it there by pressing f1 or esc or f10 f11 f12 just push them all when your computer first boots up to get into the bios settings and change. put \"windows doesnt recognize hard drive in google and youll get a more detailed answer. did u install the drivers that came with the motherboard sometimes u need to reinstall the mother board drivers in order for it to recognize any other hardware
