First get the right tool, I had a long flat bar that had an assortment of sockets to fit the spring loaded Idler. Locate the diagram of the belt path on the hood or cowling, your going to need it! Disconnect negative battery cable for safety. You might need to remove the fan shroud or other items to get clear access. Use the tool to rotate the idler and release belt tension and remove belt from one pulley carefully keeping you fingers clear of being pinched. Install new belt following path show on diagram, rotate idler and loop belt over last pulley and release.

If the belt is too short or too long, recheck the path, it's real easy to go round the wrong way and end up way off, belts are usually correct and length problems are operator error. Replace any other parts removed, connect battery and inspect belt is running smoothly.
