Restore profile settings after migration to a new server? |
[Edit] |
If you still have the old pc, then I would do a search for a program called Backrex.
Basically, this saves all favourites, passwords, emails, address book, all my documents, music etc into one file. (I usually save all this to a seperate hard drive on the network here). Then on the new pc, locate the file, (its executable), double click it, and let it run. After a reboot on the new pc, everything is then transferred over. Piece of cake :)
You could run the FAST wizard in xp to do a similar thing, but in my experience this has tended to be false economy, as occasionally, the backup has been corrupted somehow, and its a b!gg3r, to get it back again!.
Hence looking for another way of doing the above.. and trust me on this, it works a treat :)
Hope this helps
be safe
