You definitely need to get great grades…not just good grades, but great grades. A high GPA and high SAT scores are a must. After you accomplish this, start thinking about ways you can separate yourself from the competition. Extracurricular activities are very important. Lastly, make sure you want to go to Johns Hopkins University. I know a lot of students that thought they wanted to go to their dream school, but when they got in and went to that school, they were really disappointed. Pay attention to what actual students of Johns Hopkins University are saying.
I went to collegeboard.com and the SAT range for the middle fifty percent of students at Johns Hopkins University is relatively high. However, remember that these are the average scores. It's recommended that you have at least the bottom end of these scores to have a great chance of being admitted, but if your scores are slightly below this I wouldn't worry. If you scores are higher than these, then you'll certainly be admitted if the rest of your application is up to par and you might even receive scholarship money.
