Sharing a room is not a restricted activity. If it were, camping in a tent would be a problem. When to move the kid out of the parent's bedroom is a personal preference. Many people are of the opinion that the baby should get used to sleeping in its own room from the start so mom and dad can resume their normal (well, 'near normal') relationship without the distraction of a spectator.
