Depends on your dog. Once a dog is past the puppy stage and finished feeding from it's mother or bottle fed, then milk can be eliminated from the dogs diet. Milk can cause diarrhea in many adult dogs because as the puppy grows into adulthood it looses some of it's ability to digest lactose. How much ability is lost depends on the dog. To see if or how much your dog can tolerate, give the dog milk in small quantities. Once you see your dog can't tolerate a certain quantity, back down on the amount or a better solution is to give the dog lactose free milk in place of regular milk.
All puppies drink milk, as this is their main source of food. Most adult dogs will also drink milk, although it is strictly for taste rather than nutrition - adult dogs can't digest milk and are lactose intolerance, so it can cause some rather nasty diarrhea.
Some dogs like milk, but for some it may give them gas or worse. If they do like it, its mostly because of the fat and sodium content.

My dog loves it. Just i dip my finger in it, my dog keeps licking my finger. I once tried giving her milk from my glass, and she wouldn't take her snout out of the glass, and she drank all of it. Some dogs may like it as much as mine..
Well, I hear that dairy doesn't really work well with dogs and stomaches. It can make their tummy hurt, or give them the runs. But if you give them a little bit, then it's okay. I give milk to my dog when she eats something hot on accident.
But, yeah, I'm sure they can drink off milk for a little while. But, it's best if you give them water. Maybe mix water and milk together? That'd be better.
No they do not need milk and it will cause diarrhea so why feed it? why!
Should not give a dog or cat milk. It will give them diarrhea.

Well my families Yorkshire Terrier used to drink milk as a puppy, but now he drinks water.
Water is MUCH better for dogs than milk. Dogs cannot have much dairy, as it gives them digestion problems and leads to diarrhea.
