Valentine's Day was meant for lovers, but due to mass marketing techniques through the years it's quite appropriate to buy your adult child a gift if you so choose and a nice card just to let them know you love them (even though they know already.) Don't feel forced into doing this because it's not necessary, but simply just a nice thought.
