Not sure, but from what I have been reading is that it can take up from 4-6 weeks after filling was done. I had one done 3 weeks ago, and it it still sensitive and hurts with hot/cold drink or hard food items. It is better though than what it was 2 weeks ago. So mine seems to get better as the weeks past by. They say if it continues to hurt you need a root canal. Good luck

It shouldn't hurt much at all after the procedure. Depending on which tooth was filled, there could be some soreness for a few days where the dentist injected the local anesthetic. (Novocaine)

Usually after a tooth has a filling put inside the pain will calm down. Sometimes the tooth will be more sensitive and painful for a few days after having a filling put in.

Yes,it may tae a while to go because you just now filled it.The tooth pain may increase if the dentist drill too deep and it may lead to swelling.

Do you have to watch how hard you bite after getting a filling?

If you are still numb, then be careful - you may bite down harder than you realize and hurt yourself or the filling. If you aren't numb, your filling should work as well as a real tooth. If it doesn't, your dentist needs to fix it or you need to find a new dentist.

If you have a loose tooth is it better to brush or dont brush?

Even if you have a loose tooth, you should still brush your teeth. It may hurt, but if you want to, don't brush the tooth that is loose. Enjoy this answer!

Why after a root canal a tooth still hurts when its pressed on?

The tooth will continue to hurt for a couple reasons, either the nerve in the tooth has been tampered with or it is just still sore.

The dentist must have hit another tooth during a filling and now you have a small crackhole in your tooth What do you need to have done It doesn't hurt It is the top side of tooth?

Or, the new crack could be coincidental. Anyway, return to your dentist to be sure it is what you think.

Why does a molar tooth still hurt two months after a root canal and could the nerve still be in the tooth?

Weird, I had this same problem recently. I had a root canal down and a few months later my tooth started hurting again. I was now going to a different dentist and he took out the filling and the previous dentist didn't fill my tooth right and my nerves were swollen so they had to cut the nerves and do a new root canal with a new filling. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. It is unusual that a tooth would hurt two months after a root canal, although it is not impossible. It might be that the restaurantion done on the tooth is too high, not letting the tooth heal correctly. There are always chances that there was an extra canal that wasn't seen by the operator. You can talk to your dentist about that possibility. He might suggest to wait 6 months.

Does the needle hurt when you get a tooth pulled?

I had a tooth that had a cavity under a filling that was in the tooth for MANY years. The tooth finally cracked and the back corner fell off. It did not hurt but, I knew it had to be removed. The only thing that hurt was the little pinch from the needle of the novocaine. No worries.

What happens when you still have a baby tooth and the dentist wants to remove it and then replace it with a permanent tooth does it hurt and is it a serious procedure?

What do you do for an abcessed tooth?

By far the best thing is to go to a dentist. Abscessed teeth can lead to a more serious condition, not to mention hurt a lot. The dentist will open the tooth and pack it with antiseptics and probably put in a temporary filling.

Do you need to be scared of tooth filling?

I don't think so, I am having one today and I'm very scared but my mum said it wont hurt because you just need to clean the teeth and put a type of mould in...But i am still REALLY scared

Why does it hurt when metal touches a tooth filling?

It is called Galvanic shocks. If you have a gray filling, which contains some metal, it can cause a shock when you put another piece of metal on it. This doesn't happen when you have white fillings. Another possibility is that you filling is due to be changed. The best thing would be to see your dentist to check it.

My temp filling fell out after a root canal and I can't get a hold of my dentist and I am leaving for the weekend - what should I do?
