Solve the system using the subsitition method x-9y65 and 6y-8x8?In: Homeschooling |

Answer
I assume the equations were x-9y=65 and 6y-8x=8
Rearrange the first equation to x=65+9y, substitute this value for x into the second equation to get the following:
6y - 8*(65+9y) = 8
6y-520-72y = 8
Rearranging this equation gives,
-66y = 528 or y=-8
Substitute this value for y in either of the original equations and solve for x.
x-9*(-8) = 65
x+72 = 65 or x = -7
