No truer words were ever spoken, but unfortunately, child psychiatrists; psychologist and many books put doubts into parent's minds about whether to spank their children or not. Some people may have also come from an abusive family and therefore they are trying hard not to spank their children. All one has to do is look back 10 - 20 years and see how much more polite and controlled children were and more respect for their parents because most got a good spanking on the rear end by hand and as long as nothing such as a wooden spoon or any other object was not used this has never twisted a child's mind to the point their life is ruined. In fact, children that have been properly spanked (over the knee and a couple of whacks on the rear end and sent to their rooms) never felt they were ill treated when they became productive and mature adults. Children that are cajoled and prodded into being good and not learning that you are responsible for your own actions (the parents guides the child) are often the most troublesome and out of control children and sometimes will get into trouble with drugs or the law. However, there are a few children that are not much trouble to raise at all and never need a spanking or be controlled by grounding them or not letting them on the computer or watch TV.
