Spider plant is infested with black beads covering most of the leaves and into the center of the leaf shoots Beads are fallen and covering patio around the plant What are they and how do I get rid?

Answer:

It's difficult to say exactly what it is from your description, pests and diseases are easier to identify from sight because there are many similar symptoms - it's possible that these "beads" are black aphids. In any case judging by the fact that they are fallen around the plant it is probably some kind of insect infestation, in which case you can just use a pesticide.

You could try using the BBC websites garden pest identifier http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/advice/pests_and_diseases/index_embed.shtml or another alternative is to take a leaf off your plant with the "beads" on it make sure it's sealed in a plastic bag/jar and take it to your local garden centre, they should be able to advise you on what it is and what the best treatment is.
