The stores' original name was "Fashion 21" and it was marketed toward middle aged Korean American women living in LA, selling affordable clothes. In literally a year, people began to discover "Fashion 21" and its trendy Korean style, so after the store started booming, the name changed to "Forever21" and began to market toward younger generations. The style is an affordable trendy combination of Korean-American clothes (inspired by both styles). As of 2011, Forever21 has 480 stores worldwide.
