The king of Bumbaran had two sons, Prince Madali and Prince Bantugan. The younger brother, Bantugan, had many innate gifts, like strength, charisma, and intelligence. He was a skilled warrior, and no one dared invade the kingdom of Bumbaran while Bantugan was in the military there. However, after the king died and the crown passed to Madali, the rightful heir, things changed. The kingdom wished Bantugan to be king, despite Bantugan's repeated insistence that Madali would be a good and fair king and would improve the kingdom. Madali grew jealous of the kingdom's adoration of his brother, and he banished Bantugan and forbade anyone from speaking to him. Bantugan left the kingdom sadly, and traveled widely, but died soon after. Madali realized his mistake, and went to heaven to retrieve his brother's soul, and brought him back to life on Earth. However, a neighboring kingdom, who heard of Bantugan's death, decided to invade, and the weaker Bantugan made for easy kidnapping. In the end, however, Bantugan escapes from his captors, defeats their entire army, and returns home a hero and reconciles with ihis brother.
