Since the cancellation was a surprise to the show's company (it was cancelled in CBS's legendary "rural purge" at the end of the 1970-71 season), there was no "finalé episode." The last episode was just another "get Ellie married" plot.

∙ 14y agoJed Clampett(Buddy Ebsen) is died so is Granny Clampett(Irene Ryan) but Elly May Clampett(Donna Douglas) is 76 and will be turning 77 on September 26th and Jethro Clampett(Max Baer Jr.) is 72 and will be turning 73 on December 4th they will all be remember of their comedy movie they made together and worked on so hard the Beverly Hillbillies.

∙ 12y agoThe final episode was called The Hunted. Little Joe is persued by a homicidal nut. Since the cast and crew did not expect the series to end at that time, a final show tying up lose ends was not possible. The series was cancelled in the summer of 1973.
