Since Moses' wife - Tzipora - came from Midian in northwest Arabia, she probably had a dark complexion.
In Numbers Ch. 12 she is referred to as an Ethiopian; highlighting her beauty which was as obvious is the fact the Ethiopians' skin color is dark.
