I'm Fed by our Cooks, Armed by my Armorer, Trained by my Non-Commissioned Officers, and Funded by Congress.
Nowhere in a chow line, weapons card line, training office, or finance office have I ever seen any indication that any political party has anything to do with these functions. My Sergeant does not tell me the Republican party paid for this obstacle course, nor does my cook tell me the Democrats paid for my food.
Furthermore in recent voting patterns I've found Republicans more willing to make us fight longer with less resources, and far more willing to take away what benefits our combat veterans have in the VA system.
What someone says and what they do may be two entirely different things. Check out the actual records on the 9/11 GI Bill, Who wanted to Invade Iraq with less troops and supplies than asked for by the commanding generals, and who made speeches about wanting to cut VA benefits in the last 2 years.
As a living breathing combat veteran, my vote goes D every time barring something horrid in the candidates record. (Brady campaign for instance)
it seems like the navy is good for that. (the comment was posted by the author of the question)

In December 2008, the General Motors (GM) bailout was voted on by a majority of Democrats and some Republicans. Specifically, 172 Democrats and 32 Republicans voted in favor of the bailout, while 20 Democrats and 150 Republicans voted against it.
Neither party can really claim it. The 19th Amendment was passed in 1919, with Republicans voting 200 for vs. 19 against, Democrats voting 102 for vs. 69 against.

Republicans are against gay marriage, allowing gays to adopt, allowing them to serve in the military, and in general anything positive that could happen to gays they're against.
