I had the same problem and it nearly drove me crazy. There is a spring clip inside that presses onto the base plate at the end furthest from the hole. This clip "bites" into two narrow ridges on the the soft metal surface of the base plate, effectively locking it in place. I eventually placed the base plate on my wooden workbench top, inserted an Allen key that just fit the hole and then hit it with a hammer. The base plate came off without much further effort. The clip, base plate and mirror are all still in good shape and ready to re-install! I'm not sure how you would get such force onto the clip if the mirror were still attached to the windscreen. It seems that there may be a "sweet spot" in the clip at a point nearest to the base plate surface in the middle of the mechanism. In hind sight, a small flat-headed screwdriver would have been a better tool to use as it could concentrate the pressure where the base plate meets the spring clip. If you look very carefully, you can just see the near end of the spring clip when the mirror is installed on the base plate. Don't waste your time on what you can see as it doesn't affect the locking mechanism at all.

Mirror is an assembly. Take the door panel off and there are recessed nuts holding the mirror assy. on. 3 i think. also Electrical wiring needs to be disconected for the power/heated mirror.
You need to remove the door panel. Remove the wires going to the mirror. Remove the nuts holding the side mirror. Reinstall in reverse order.
Remove inside door panel, remove mirror assembly holding bolts, unplug electrical connection and reinstall.
there is no mirror key. using luigi go to the mirror room, grab a power flower, and you can go thru the mirror no u cant it doesnt work
You need to draw a convex mirror. If you add lines normal to its surface you will see that the focal point is behind the mirror. The image is not inverted.
honestly i dont know but if you scrap it on a mirror and if it leaves a mark then its real but if it doesnt its FAKEEE. honestly i dont know but if you scrap it on a mirror and if it leaves a mark then its real but if it doesnt its FAKEEE.
if you put a mirror in front of the sun, this thing will happen, like a flash of light.its pretty cool, but it doesnt work all the time
The mirror symbolizes how he doesnt want to see his inner self. Society has told us that if we dont look a certain way then were ugly. He felt ugly so instead of looking in the mirror and being haunted with his "ugliness" everyday he covers them so he doesnt have to see himself.
he doesnt he comes out of a mirror and kill another victim
I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The rearview mirror on my car has twin maplights, and on the back it says "Donnelly IE 8012001". I just re-glued my mirror to the windshield after it fell off. Some other cars use a screw to attach the button to the mirror, but this mirror does not. Instead, I used a flat-head screwdriver to pry the button out of the mirror -- be careful to not to hurt yourself or the mirror. After prying the button out, I studied the mirror, and there doesn't appear to be any other way to remove the button. When gluing the button to the windshield, be careful to figure out which side and orientation the button needs to face before gluing it to the windshield.
The Subaru Bible says yes. Looking up at the mirror, pry away the base with a flat screwdriver, flip it up & remove, disconnect if heated, re-use clips if not on new mirror, reconnect & reinstall. Have girlfriend check if she's cute. If she's not scratch mirror...
