What you can do is refer to your lease with your landlord, the owner of the condominium.
Unfortunately for you, you may not be included in the 'official chain' of responsibility for fixing the damage or paying for it. This also means that your rights may be limited.
You can ask your landlord for a refund of rental monies paid, and work with the landlord to otherwise be compensated for your significant inconvenience.
