The red light on your Hitachi LCD television indicates that the television is in standby. The blue light means that the television is on. Every time you press those two buttons the time increases.The increments are for 1 flash 2 minutes ,2 flashes 4 minutes , 3 flashes 8 miutes and then 4 flashes is 18 minutes.
